Toledo YES! Paints the Town–Olde Town that is!

The mission of Toledo YES Project is two-fold: 1) To teach high school students the value of volunteering and encourage them to strengthen and develop a relationship with God, and 2) To bring the love of Christ and His healing presence to those whom we serve. This is achieved through participating in projects serving homeowners, other non-profit organizations, and various kids of shelters throughout the Toledo area. University of Toledo and Students at Scott Problem-Solve Neighborhood Issues

October 8, 2015

This summer the University of Toledo presented a two-week class on GIS training, geography and urban planning at Scott High School. The students learned how data can drive the revitalization process of a neighborhood. The students walked the neighborhood and mapped out issues that were of concern for them and offered potential solutions. These students presented their final project to the Mayor and neighborhood leadership as well as the City of Toledo. This class will be repeated in the summer of 2016.
